Our Vision
In 2011, Colin Thompson and Samantha Ayers began the company as Custom Carpentry by CPT, a licensed millwork and renovation company. At the time, Colin was the youngest licensed contractor on the Big Island of Hawaii, at the age of 25. The company prided itself on modern construction practices coupled with old world knowledge. After 6 years of successful projects and one marriage, Colin and Samantha Thompson evolved the company into CPT General Building. The company continues to evolve and keep up with modern technology and building practices through continued education and by pushing the limits of whats expected from a construction company. The company pride it self on hands on management and a flawless end product.

- Hawaii Community College c/o ’07 Carpentry Technology
- ’07-’09 Carpentry Foreman for various commercial projects on Kauai, Maui, and Oahu
- ’09-’10 Superintendent for various residential projects in Hilo Hawaii
- ’10-’11 Project Manager for High End residential projects on the Kohala Coast
Samantha A Thompson, Office Manager & CFO
- Born in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand
- raised in Bangkok, Thailand from the age of 3
- studied english and language at a private international school
- moved to Hilo, Hawaii at the age of 11
- Hilo High school c/o ‘08
- ’08-’11 worked as office administrator/ translator for a Thai company
